Small Style offers vintage-inspired dolls and accessories
in a variety of sizes and styles designed and handmade
by Lynda Ulmer, IGMA Artisan.
Small Style accessories are elegant and feminine wardrobe essentials for "mademoiselle" made in a variety of sizes and styles. There are dollhouse miniature items in 1:12th scale, suitable for a doll to hold or to include in a room box. Place them on a chair, bed or vanity table ... or in a shop or boutique. Other items are made for 6" to 20" dolls. They are lovely accessories to display with your mignonette, antique, French or Ultimate Fashion dolls.
Over the years I have acquired a collection of old lace, kid leather gloves, fabric and beads, which are incorporated into my work. In an effort to ensure the individuality of each piece, I try to make the items unique and varied. Each is a reproduction item created with a vintage look.
My dolls have been sold under the name Petticoats & Crumpets. They are meticulously handcrafted in porcelain, then china painted with delicate detail and fired several times. All costuming is also done by me, including the wigs, shoes and accessories.
Clothing is made of fine silk, cotton, brocade or swiss batiste, and is adorned with antique and cotton lace, handmade silk ribbon roses or bows, tiny beads, crystals and pearls. The clothing is not removable.
Dolls range in size from 3-1/2" to 5-1/2" tall. They are made from a mold of my original sculpted head and torso, combined with commercially available molds for the arms and legs. Each doll has its own unique personality and is truly a one-of-a-kind creation.
Attention to detail is very important to me, whether it is in the sculpting, painting, costuming, wigging or accessorizing. I take pride in the quality and detailed workmanship of my dolls and accessories. With each new piece, I am continually learning and trying to improve as an artist.
